Writing is my life. I am a freelance writer and author of over 40 nonfiction
books for young readers of all ages. In addition, I am a correspondent for several Central New Jersey publications, where
I write book reviews and art exhibit reviews. I also write about other topics that fall under the heading of Arts
and Entertainment. .
Food is another passion of mine. In 2002, I went to Culinary Arts School and
earned a Certificate in Culinary Arts. I don't work as a Chef, but I love to cook and write about food. Currently I teach
a "Writing about Food" course at Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey.

I hold an M.S. degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University. Studying science taught me the proper
way to do research..... a necessary component of writing nonfiction.

I am a former instructor at the Institute of Children's Literature in Connecticut. The Institute
offers a comprehensive self-study program that has launched the careers of many wonderful writers for children.
Several times a year I teach a 2- Saturday (6
hour total) workshop at Rutgers University called "Writing for Children." One 3- hour session involves learning
about the writing techniques that are specific to children's writing, and the second 3-hour session teaches
how to market your work once it is completed. For more information about this workshop, click the link below:
